Mom's Drop Sugar Cookies Recipe

2 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 c. milk mixed with 1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. shortening
2 tsp. vanilla extract

4 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. baking powder
Pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Beat together sugar, eggs, milk, shortening, & vanilla. Sift together flour, soda, baking powder, & salt and slowly add to sugar mixture. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto well-greased tins. Bake at 350º for 10 - 12 minutes. Cool completely.

After cooling:

1/2 c. margarine, melted
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat together, adding small amounts of milk until desired consistency. Drop onto cooled cookies and sprinkle with colored sugar for desired holiday.
