1/2 C. softened butter
1 C. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. grated lemon peel
1 1/2 C. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 C. milk
2 tbsp. poppy seeds

Glaze
Juice of 1 lemon
1/2 cup powder sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350º. Grease a 9x5 inch loaf pan. In a mixing bowl, beat together the butter and sugar. Beat in remaining ingredients in the order listed. Pour the mix into the pan and bake for 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool for 15 minutes, then transfer it to a cooling rack. Meanwhile, mix together the glaze ingredients. Prick the loaf with a fork and pour the glaze over the top.
