Dressing: Salad:
½ cup oil 4 cups lettuce, torn into bite-sized pieces
3 tbsp vinegar 1 pear, cored, chopped or sliced
¼ cup sugar ½ cup toasted walnut halves*
½ tsp celery seed 2 oz. blue cheese, crumbled
½ tsp salt

In jar with tight-fitting lid, combine all dressing ingredients. Shake until well blended and sugar is dissolved. Refrigerate to blend flavors. In large bowl, combine all salad ingredients. Just before serving, pour dressing over salad; toss to coat.
Tip: *To toast walnuts, spread on cookie sheet. Bake at 375 for 3 to 5 minutes or until golden brown, stirring occasionally.
