3/4 c. Sugar (divided)
3 tbsp. Flour
Dash of Salt
4 Eggs (reserve 3 egg whites)
2 c. Carnation Milk (1 can) undiluted
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Cream of Tartar
1 box Wafers and 5 lg. Bananas

Directions:
Directions:
Use a heavy sauce pan to cook custard.
Combine 1/2 c. sugar, flour and salt. Add 1 whole egg and 3 egg yolks. Stir in milk. Cook until thick over medium low heat. Remove and add vanilla. Pour over vanilla wafers and bananas sliced and layered in 4" deep dish.
For meringue: Add 1/4 tsp. Cream of Tartar to egg whites. Beat on high until soft peaks form. Add 1/4 c. sugar and beat on high until stiff peaks form. Spread over dish. Brown in 325 degree oven.
