2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 c. cracklings, crushed
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tbsp. shortening
3/4 c. milk


Directions:
Directions:
Sift flour once; measure. Add baking powder and salt. Sift again. Add cracklings, cut in shortening. Add milk gradually until soft dough is formed. Roll out on slightly floured board. Cut out and bake in hot 450º oven for 12 to 15 minutes.

We all loved this on cold winter mornings with a hot cup of coffee. Aunt Cecile (Daddy's sister) made the best Crackling Biscuits ever!
