Raspberry Squares Recipe

1 c butter
1 c sugar
1 egg yolk
2 c flour
3/4 c chopped pecans
1 t almond extract
1 t orange rind
1 10 oz jar of raspberry preserves

Cream butter and sugar well. Add yolk. Add flour and nuts and mix well. Divide dough 2/5- 3/5. Roll out 3/5 and put in 13 x 9" metal pan. Cover with preserves.
Roll out remaining dough between 2 sheets of waxed paper. Cut into stripes. Place like lattice on top of preserves.
Bake 350 40 min or until golden brown.
Cut while warm into squares.
