Cake Layer:
Sift together:
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder

Boil in a pan, cool:
1 c. butter
1 c. water
1/4 c. cocoa powder

Beat together:
1/2 c. buttermilk
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla

Middle layer:
3/4 c. butter, softened
3 c. powdered sugar, sifted
3 tbsp. milk
1-1/2 tsp. peppermint or mint extract
4 drops green food color

Top layer:
1/2 c. butter
1 c chocolate chips
1 tsp. vanilla
1 bag sliced almonds

Cake Layer:
Boil butter, sugar and cocoa in a pan and allow to cool. In a large bowl mix all of the ingredients. Spread in a 10 X 15" greased pan. Bake at 375º for 15 - 20 minutes. Allow to cool.
Middle layer:
Whip together ingredients. Spread over the cake layer. Refrigerate for 1 hour covered.
Top layer:
Melt the butter and chocolate chips (except for the almonds) in a pan. Once melted, remove from heat and add the vanilla. Allow to cool. Once cool pour over desert and spread evenly. Store covered in the refrigerator.
