1 medium onion, chopped
1/4 cup butter
1-1/2 cups chopped pared apple
2 cups soft bread cubes
1 tsp salt
1 tsp celery salt
1/4 tsp caraway seeds
1/4 tsp marjoram
1/8 tsp pepper
Apple juice
4 to 5 lbs spareribs, in two strips

Stuffing: Saute onion in butter. Mix apple, bread cubes and seasonings. Add enough apple juice to moisten bread (about 1/4 cup). Sprinkle ribs with salt and pepper. Place one stip on a rack in a roasting pan. Arrange stuffing on this strip. Cover with second strip of ribs. Fasten together with toothpicks or skewers. Roast at 375 degrees for one and one-half hours, reduce heat to 300 degrees and bake 15 to 20 minutes more. Add 1/2 cup apple juice to pan drippings in roasting pan and baste ribs during last 45 minutes of cooking. Place on serving platter, remove skewers, cut into 6 serving pieces.
