5 or 6 ripe peaches
3/4 C. sugar (very sweet -- use less)
1-1/2 C. scalded milk
1/4 t. salt
3 T. flour
2 eggs, separated
4 T. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Place sliced peaches in deep dish pie pan. Sprinkle sliced peaches with 1/4 C. sugar. Mix flour, salt and 1/2 C. sugar together. Stir dry mixture into slightly beaten egg yolks. Slowly add hot milk and pour mixture over peaches. Bake until filling is set. Make meringue, if desired, out of 2 egg whites.

This was original recipe in Mom's handwriting, including the note about reducing the sugar. Mom also wrote on the recipe "This is old, back from the 40s."
