1/2 cup Crisco
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 eggs
2 oz. red food coloring
2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. soda
1 cup buttermilk
1 tbsp. cocoa
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tbsp. vinegar

Cream together Crisco, sugar, eggs and food coloring. Sift together flour, soda and salt and add. Mix in remaining ingredients. Bake 35 minutes at 350.
1/2 cup Crisco
1 cup milk
1/2 cup flour
1 cup sugar
dash of salt
Cook slowly until thick; stirring constantly. Frost and cover cake with coconut.
