2 C. flour
1/4 C. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
3 tsp. baking powder
1/3 C. cold butter
1 egg, slightly beaten
3/4 C. Milk
Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour with sugar, salt and baking powder. Cut butter into mixture with pastry cutter or fork until mixture is crumbly. Mix egg into milk and add to mixture, stirring until just mixed. Do not over mix. Place in 8 inch square pan and bake at 350 for about 15 - 20 minutes -- watch close. Serve split with sweetened strawberries and whipped cream

This was written in Evalina's handwriting. It doesn't give directions for pan size or time of baking, so I have estimated them. This is an especially delicious short cake, much better than making it with Bisquick.
