1 pkg. dry yeast
1-1/2 C. warm water
1 T. sugar
1-1/2 tsp. salt
1 T. soft shortening
4 C. sifted white flour
Melted Butter or Margarine

Directions:
Directions:
Sprinkle yeast in 1/2 C. water (dissolve). In another bowl, add sugar and salt to remaining 1 C. water. Add 1 C. flour and mix well, add yeast mixture and then remaining flour. Knead dough until smooth. Turn dough on board and cut in half. Shape into two balls and let rest 10 mins. Roll each in rectangle, roll up like a jelly roll, seal ends and let rise 1-1/2 hours. Bake 400 30 to 35 mins. Brush with melted butter immediately when removing from oven.
