This recipe for PEANUT BUTTER COOKIES, by Betty Simms, is from Nanny's Family Cookbook,

Sift together: 2 1/2 cups flour 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. soda
Blend together: 1 cup Crisco 1 cup peanut butter 1 cup white sugar 1 cup brown sugar 2 eggs 2 tsp. vanilla
Directions:
Bake at 350º for 10 to 12 minutes
Sift together first 3 ingredient, set aside
Blend together all remaining ingredients, then add sifted ingredients to blended ingredients.
Form in to ball size of walnut or a little bigger, place on cookie sheet, then press a fork down on top of ball, now press again making a crisscross pattern.
Brown lightly
