1 1/2 c. white sugar, 1/2 c. butter or shortening, 2 eggs, well beaten, 1 c. sour milk, 1/2 c. boiling water, with 1 tsp. soda, 1/2 c. cocoa, 2 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Cream sugar and shortening or butter, add well beaten eggs, sour milk, water, and soda to mixture. Sift flour and cocoa together and add to above mixture. Bake in moderate oven until toothpick comes clean in center.
