1 1/2 c. sugar, 1/2 c. butter, 1/2 c. sour milk or buttermilk, 3 eggs, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. vanilla, 1 tsp. soda, 1 1/2 c. flour, 2 squares chocolate dissolved in 1/2 cup hot water.

mix all ingredients in order, bake at 350 for 35-40 min. Make the melted chocolate squares last and pour on cake while hot.
