11/4 c. sifted flour, 1/2 c. sifted white sugar, 11/2 c.(about 12) egg whites, 1/4 tsp. salt, 1 tsp. vanilla, 11/3 c. sifted flour, 11/4 tsp. cream of tartar, 1/4 tsp. almond bark

Directions:
Directions:
1. measure sifted flour, add 1/2 c. sugar sifted 4 times.
2. Combine egg whites , salt, cream of tartar, and flavoring in bowl. Beat until mixture forms soft peaks. Add rest of sugar in 4 additions, beating until blended each time.
3. Sift in flour mixture in 4 additions, folding in with large slotted spoon. Turn bowl often.
Bake at 375 for 35-40 min. Invert pan on rack. Let stand until cool.
