1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. shortening
pinch of salt
2 eggs
1/2 c. nuts, chopped
1 tsp. vanilla
dash of cinnamon
1 c. flour
1 c. quick oatmeal
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Combine ingredients and drop by rounded teaspoons 2 inches apart onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 375 oven for 10 to 12 minutes or till edges are golden. Cool cookies on a wire rack.

Peggy got this recipe from Grandma Crary (Florence, Keith's mom). She thought they were the best cookies she had ever eaten. She asked her for the recipe. Florence said, "Recipe? I don't have a recipe for them." The next time she made them she measured what she used so Peggy could have a recipe to follow.
