German Potato Salad Recipe

12 medium potatoes
1 C diced bacon
1 1/2 C chopped onion
3-4 T sugar
3-4 T flour
3 tsp. salt
1 tsp. celery seed
Dash of pepper
1 C vinegar
1 C water
1 T butter
2 T chives

Boil potatoes in skins. Cool. Peel, slice and cube. Fry bacon until crisp. Cook onions in bacon grease until transparent. Combine flour, sugar, salt and seasonings in bowl and then put into the bacon grease with the onions. Cook slow to bubble. Remove from heat and stir in water, vinegar and butter. Return to heat and cook until blended. Add chives. Pour over potatoes and put in oven for 1 hour @ 300
