1 c. soft shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 tsp. cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
First mix together thoroughly the shortening, sugar, and eggs. Then blend in the vanilla and cinnamon. Sift together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt in a separate bowl. Then slowly stir dry mixture into wet ingredients. Chill dough over night. The next day roll the dough into chestnut sized balls. Roll the balls in a mixture of 1/3 cinnamon, 2/3 sugar. Place balls about 2 inches apart on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 400F until lightly browned, but still very soft. (About 8-10 minutes). Let cool and enjoy!
