1 1/2 lbs. French bread, crust trimmed
7 c. milk
1 c. rum
1/4 lb. butter
2 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 T. vanilla extract
4 eggs
cinnamon
raisins (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375. Grease a 15x10 inch glass baking dish. Melt butter over low heat with rum.
Crumble bread into a big bowl. Add milk and mix thoroughly until well blended.
Add sugar, salt and vanilla. In another bowl, beat eggs lightly and add to mixture along with the optional raisins. Add melted butter rum, mix well and pour into baking dish. Sprinkle the top with cinnamon. Bake for 1 1/2 hours on the middle rack. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.

This is amazing Bread Pudding. Some people like to add a chocolate sauce on top, but it doesn't need it. I prefer carmelized bananas!
