˝ c. butter, softened
1 c. flour
2 Tbl. Water (or more if needed)

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven 350 degrees. Cut ˝ c. butter into 1 c. flour. Sprinkle 2 Tbl water over mixture and mix (add a little almond extract to the dough). Round into ball; divide in ˝ and roll each ˝ into long strips. On ungreased baking sheet, pat each strip tomake a 12x3 strip. Strips should be about 3 inches apart.

Heat ˝ c. butter and ˝ c. water to rolling boil in medium saucepan. Remove from heat and quickly stir in almond extract and 1 c. flour. Stir vigorously over low heat until mixture forms a ball, about 1 min. Remove from heat. Add eggs and beat until smooth and glossy with an egg beater.

Sppon the mixture evenly over the strips. Bake 40 min. or until topping is slightly brown (topping will shrink and fall, forming the custard top of this puff). When cooled frost with Confectioners’ Sugar glaze and sprinkle generously with sliced almonds.

Confectioners’ Sugar Glaze: Mix 1 ˝ c. confectioners’ sugar, 2 Tbl. Butter, 1 tsp. almond extract and 1-2 Tbl. Water until smooth.
