3/4 cup shortening (margarine)
1 1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup dark molasses
1 tsp soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 egg
1/2 cup buttermilk or sour milk
4 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
dash of salt and dash of allspice

Directions:
Directions:
Mix ingredients and chill in a bowl until eash to handle. Shape into 3 rolls on floured board. Wrap rolls in plastic wrap and refrigerate at least overnight. Cut thin and bake on greased cookie sheet at 350.

Rolls can be kept unbaked in refrigerator for several weeks.
