Heat water to boiling and add walnuts. Cook 1 min, rinse with hot water and drain. In a bowl, blend nuts with sugar until dissolved. Heat 1 inch oil in pan and fry a portion of nuts at a time. Drain and sprinkle with salt, toss and cool.
We do this for Christmas and decorate our cookie trays with the nuts.
