1 scant cup sugar
3 heaping tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. cocoa
2 egg yolks
2 scant cups milk
2 egg whites
2 tsp. sugar



Meringue

2 egg whites
2 tsp. sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, flour, and cocoa well. Add water enough to make a thin paste. Beat in egg yolks. (Granda's notes++ "I use 1 egg while raising my kids, if you have an abundance of eggs use 2"++ that is cute) Mix well and add milk, anddash of salt. Cook, stirring constantly til thick.Have egg whites beaten till stiff enough to stand in to peaks alone and about 2 tsp. sugar beaten in well. Mix this into the hot pudding, carefully. Transfer to a dish. Let cool and serve.
This can be used in chocloate pie, except pour pudding into baked pie shell and top with meringue, made same as the whites mentioned above. Seal by having meringue touch sides of crust before browing in oven.

I left this just as Grandma Palmer typed it. It is touching to me to see it just this way. Jeff has always loved the memories of eating Grandma's chocolate pudding.
