1 c. English walnuts, chopped fine
1/2-3/4 c. maraschino cherries, halved or quartered, reserve juice

1-2 c. miniature, colored marshmallows, optional

Directions:
Directions:
I peel the Granny Smith apples and then cut into small pieces . If the peel to the McIntosh or Jonathan apple are not tough, I leave it on and cut them up the same size as the Granny Smith apples (It makes the salad prettier). In a small bowl mix in some of the reserved cherry juice with the Miracle Whip until you reach the desired consistency. In a large mixing bowl, combine all the ingredients and toss with the dressing. Fold in the miniature marshmallows if desired.

Angie: "I have to add a little note about this recipe. It has been a favorite of mine, as well as most everyone else I know of in the family, for as long as I can remember. We always have this on special occasions and everyone loves it! Now that I live so far away my Grandma makes it for me when I come into town. This recipe really has special memories for me and I will continue to make it for my children and pass it along to them too."
