2 1/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 T. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. pecan, chopped
1 c. dates, chopped
1/3 c. maraschino cherries, chopped
2 1/2 c. corn flakes, crushed

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the flour, baking powder and soda, salt, shortening, and sugar. In another mixing bowl combine eggs, milk and vanilla. Add to the dry ingredients gradually and mix well. Fold in pecans, dates and cherries and mix well. Shape into tablespoon-shaped balls and roll in crushed flakes. Press 1/4 maraschino cherry into the center of the cookie. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes on a greased baking sheet.
