Ingredients:
1 chicken cooked and deboned, reserve broth
Dumplings:
1 egg
3/4 c milk or chicken broth
flour - approx 4 cups
salt and pepper to your taste
1 can cream of chicken soup - optional

Dumplings:
Mix all ingredients well and put onto floured board. Roll out as thin as you like and cut anyway you want them. I like tough dumplings so I work the dough quite abit. Drop one at a time into pot of reserved chicken broth that is boiling-do not drop a dry dumpling on a wet dumpling. Do not stir dumplings with a spoon, push them around with a large fork. May add a can of cream of chicken soup. Cover and cook for 20 to 30 minutes or until done.

Personal Notes:
I adapted this from Mother's recipe (Ma Choate) after I moved back to Lufkin in 1978.
