1 lb. okra, sliced thin ( 18 oz. frozen )
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 C. cornmeal
12 C. chopped onion
1 egg
1/2 C. water
1/2 C flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. baking powder
oil

Directions:
Directions:
Mix water, garlic powder, salt,onion, and egg together. Mix well. Add to orka. Mix flour, meal, and baking powder together; add to orka mixture. Form into patties. Heat oil in heavy skillet. When hot, add okra patties. Fry slowly until browned. Serve while hot.
