1/2 cup cocoa
2 cups sugar
2 tsp baking powder
2 cups flour
2 tsp baking soda
2 eggs
1 Tbs vanilla
1/4 Lb butter
2 cups boiling water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix the dry ingredients in a bowl. Add vanilla, butter, eggs and water. Beat. Pour into a greased tube pan or 9" X 13" baking pan. Bake at 325F for 35-40 minutes. Frost if desired

Note From editor: This batter is very thin. I add about 1 - 1 1/2 cup extra flour. For the tube pan I bake longer, about 50 minutes or until test done with toothpick.
