1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. water
zest of 2 llimes (optional)
4 c. ice water
1 c. fresh lime juice (about 8 limes)
lime slices for garnish (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
In saucepan, combine sugar, 1 c. water and lime zest; bring to a boil over high heat, stirring until sugar dissolves. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 5 minutes.

Strain and let cool to room temperature. Pour mixture into large pitcher and add ice water and lime juice. Stir well and serve over ice. Garnish with lime slices, if desired.
