1 C sugar
1 C molasses
1 C melted shortening
1/2 C hot water
2 tsp soda dissolved in water
1 tsp ginger
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp salt
3 3/4 C flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients, cover, and cool dough in fridge.

Form in balls and press down lightly with fork dipped in sugar.

Bake in 400 oven for 6-8 minutes.
