Filling:
cup boiling water
1 tsp baking soda
1 cup molasses
1 egg

Crumbs:
2 cups flour
1 cup brown sugar
cup shortening

1 pastry for 1 pie

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400. Line pan with pastry. Sprinkle with a handful of crumbs over the bottom. Barely mix crumbs into the liquid filling. Pour into crust. Top with reserved crumbs. Bake at 400 for 25 minutes. Reduce heat to 375, bake another 25 minutes.
