2/3 cup crisco shortening
1-1/3 cup sugar
2 eggs
1-1/2 cups mashed bananas
1 tsp.vanilla
2 cups all purpose flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
3/4 tsp. salt
1/3 cup buttermilk
1 cup chopped pecans.
Cream Cheese Icing:
1 -8oz pkg. cream cheese softened
1/2 cup butter or margarine softened
4 cups conf. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla.

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350ºgrease 13x9 inch pan. In large bowl combine shortening and sugar, beat until light and fluffy add eggs one at a time beating well after each addition. Blend in bananas and vanilla.In another bowl sift all the dry ingreidents. On med slow speed blend in about 1/3 of the flour mix. Blend in about half of the buttermilk, ending with the remaining flour mix. stir in nuts. Bake for about 40-45 min. or until tooth pick comes out clean. Cool .
In large mixing bowl beat cream cheese and butter together. Gradually add sugar blend until smoothe then add vanilla and spread on cool cake and refrigerate.
