5 lbs onions chopped
4 oz butter
1-1/2 tsp pepper
2 tbls paprika
1 bay leaf
3/4 c flour
3 qts quality canned beef stock
1 c white wine
2 tsp salt

Directions:
Directions:
Slice onion and sauté with butter 1-1/2 hours at simmer. Add all remaining ingredients but stock and salt and simmer additional 10 minutes. Add stock and simmer 2 hours. Add salt and refrigerate over night. Reheat soup and ladle into bowls, top with a slice of french bread and good swiss cheese and broiled till the cheese is melted.
