1 1/2 cups boiling water
1 cup quick oats
1/4 lb. margarine or butter (1/2 cup)
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs, well beaten
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/3 cup flour
6 Tbs. melted margarine or butter
1 cup white sugar
1/4 cup evaporated milk or cream
1 cup chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup coconut

Directions:
Directions:
Cake: Boil 1 1/2 cups of water and pour over quick oats. Add the 1/2 cup butter. Add the next 9 ingredients and bake at 350 for 35 minutes.

Topping: Combine the remaining 6 ingredients. Heat until sugar is dissolved and spread on cake while still hot. Put under broiler for a few minutes until brown.
