1 1/2 heads lettuce
1 green pepper, diced (also yellow or red peppers look great!)
1 bunch green onions, chopped
2 cups celery, chopped
2 cans sliced chestnuts
2 pkgs. frozen peas (10 oz. size)
16 oz. mayonnaise mixed with 2 Tbs. sugar (spread over peas)

Directions:
Directions:
Layer the salad in a large bowl in the order listed above. Cover with the grated cheese and crumble bacon over the top. Place airtight cover over bowl and refrigerate over night. Usually best to stir up the salad just before you serve it.
