Cake
1/2 cup poppy seeds soaked in 1 cup milk
3/4 cup shortening (margarine)
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 tsp baking powder
4 egg whites beaten
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 tsp salt

Pudding filling
4 egg yolks
2 cups milk
1 cup sugar
2 T cornstarch

Directions:
Directions:
Cake
Cream together margarine and sugar, add seeds with milk and flour
Then fold in beaten egg whites
Bake in 3 layers at 375 oven for 20 minutes
Cool

Pudding filling
Cook and stir all ingredients until thickened and smooth
Cool

Spread filling between cake layers and cover all with whipped cream
