1 stick butter,
1 cup brown sugar,
1 egg, 1 tsp.vanilla
1 cup flour
1/16 tsp salt
1/16 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup chocolate chips

Directions:
Directions:
In a sauce pan melt the butter. Add the sugar and stir until all sugar is melted. Set aside to cool.
Then add the egg and vanilla. Sift together all dry ingredients: flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Add to the first mixture. Then stir in half of the chocolate chips. Pour Into a greased and floured 8 x 8 or 9 x 9 pan. Sprinkle the rest of the chocolate chips on top. Bake in a preheated 350 oven for 22-25 minutes depending on oven. Watch carefully the last 5 minutes of baking.

This is a recipe that mom always made. When friends from high school came over, there always seemed to be a pan of my mother's (Phyllis Kidd)brownies on the counter. I make this now for my sons' friends when they come over. This is a favorite of Christopher and Julieanne Warner. Everytime we get together I'll be sure to make this recipe for them.
