Ingredients: 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef 1/2 lb. American cheese (Velveeta) 1 can mushroom soup 1 - 8 oz. pkg. noodles (cooked) 1 large onion (chopped) 1 - 4 oz. can mushrooms (drained) 1 soup can full of milk 1 can chow-mein noodles

Directions:Put the hamburger with onions on to fry while boiling the noodles, to save time. Drain the water off the noodles, and drain the hamburger, also. Then mix all ingredients except chow-mein noodles together. (Or you can leave the cheese out and layer the mixture alternately with cheese). Bake 25 minutes at 350 º. Top with the chow-mein noodles and bake for 10 more minutes. Remove from oven and allow to set for awhile before serving. |

Notes: This was from way back in my childhood---and I loved it, as did the rest of my family! I'm guessing (because I can't remember!) that it would work well to prepare it all except the chow mein noodles, and put in refrigerator until ready to bake later.) As usual with casseroles, it's delicious leftover, also! It's nice for company or "just us"!
