Sift together: ½ c sifted flour 1 tsp. baking powder ½ tsp. salt 1/3 c sugar 1 T. cocoa Add to dry mix: Do not beat ¼ c milk 1 T. melted shortening 1 tsp. vanilla Place all in 9 x 9 pan. Mix and sprinkle on top: ½ c brown sugar 2 T. cocoa Pour ¾ c boiling water over all.
Bake at 350º for 30 min. Serve warm with whip cream or ice cream.
