10 Tbsp butter
c sugar
tsp vanilla
1 c flour

Filling:
10 oz cream cheese, softened
1/3 c sugar
1 large egg
2/3 tsp vanilla

Topping:
c sugar
5 c sliced, peeled apples
2/3 tsp cinnamon
1/3 c sliced almonds

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 450. Cream butter, sugar and vanilla. Blend in flour. Spread dough on bottom and 1 high around sides of a 10 springform pan. Combine cream cheese and sugar. Mix well. Add egg and vanilla; mix and pour into pastry-lined pan. Combine sugar and cinnamon. Toss apples in sugar mix and spoon over cream cheese layer; sprinkle with nuts. Bake for 10 minutes before reducing oven to 400; continue baking 25 minutes. Allow torte to cool for awhile. Loosen torte from rim of pan; cool before removing rim of pan.
