1 cup yellow corn meal
1 cup all purpose flour
1/4 sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1 cup butter milk
1/4 cup butter,melted.

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425. grease and then heat an 8 inch iron skillet. In a large bowl sift together the corn meal, flour sugar ,baking powder and salt. Add the eggs, milk,and melted butter and beat until just smooth. Pour into prepared,preheated skillet and bake for 20-25 min.

My brother Bill and my sister Martha used to carry this around in our pocket and eat it when we got hungry. Sometimes we would put home made apple butter on it.
