½ c shortening 1½ c sugar 2¾ c sifted flour 2 tsp cream of tartar ½ c butter 2 eggs 1 tsp baking soda ½ tsp salt
Cream sugar, butter and shortening. Add eggs and beat until fluffy. Sift together dry ingredients and mix until just blended. Do not over mix. Form walnut size balls and roll in cinnamon sugar. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake at 400° for 8 minutes.
