1 2/3 c flour
1 c sugar
tsp lemon peel
1 tsp baking powder
c butter
1 egg
10 c sliced apples (about 5 apples)
1 tsp cinnamon
tsp nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients in mixing bowl. Cut in butter. Reserve 1 c mixture. To remainder, add 1 egg yolk with fingers. Press into the bottom and sides of a spring form pan. In large bowl mix apples with cinnamon and nutmeg. Distribute evenly over the crust and sprinkle with reserved crumbs. Bake 1 hours at 350.
