1 c margarine
c shortening
c cocoa
1 c water
2 c flour, sifted
2 c sugar
c buttermilk
1 tsp baking soda
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla


Icing:
c butter
c cocoa
6 Tbsp milk
1 lb powdered sugar
Nuts and vanilla to taste

Directions:
Directions:
Mix butter, shortening, cocoa and water in small saucepan and bring to a boil. Dump flour and sugar in a large bowl, and pour hot mixture over the top. Then mix in remaining ingredients. Bake in jellyroll pan for 20 minutes at 400. While it bakes, prepare icing to be added as soon as cake comes out of the oven. To prepare the icing, bring butter, cocoa and milk to a boil in medium saucepan. Remove from heat and beat in sugar, nuts and vanilla.

Initially, I thought this was the Texas Sheetcake recipe. It is similar, but not the same, and Mom saw fit to keep it in her recipe file.
