1 block butter
1 block margarine
1-1/2 c sugar
2 eggs
2 T cocoa (Not hot chocolate mix)
2 t red food coloring
1 t salt
1 t vanilla
1 c buttermilk
2-1/2 c cake flour
1-1/2 t baking soda
1-1/2 t vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together butter, margine and sugar. Add 2 eggs and mix well.

Make a paste of cocoa and red food coloring. and add to butter mixture

Mix salt, vanilla and buttermilk together. Add buttermilk mixture and cake flour to butter mixture alternately a little at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Mix together soda and vinegar and add to above.

Pour into greased and floured 9 x 13 pan. Bake at 350 for 30-35 minutes. Cool.

Frosting: Mix 5 T flour with 1 cup milk. Strain into small pot before cooking. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until like thick paste. Let cool. Cream together 2 blocks butter, 1 t vanilla, 1 c sugar and add to cooled flour mixture. Whip until of whipped cream consistency. Spread on cooled cake.
