1 Egg, beaten 1/2 C. Corn Meal
4 C. Buttermilk Salt to taste
1 C. Self-Rising Flour 6-8 Geen Tomatoes,
cut into 1/4 inch slices

Directions:
Directions:
Mix dry ingredients. Coat each slice of tomato with dry mixture. Fry in bacon drippings or cooking oil until golden brown. Turn only once with tongs; use heavy or iron skillet. Drain on paper towels. Serve.

This recipe comes from my church cookbook and is one of Doris Parrish's, the pastor's wife. She is a very good cook, everything I have eaten of hers is good. Mom, Clelta Hummer, used to fix these at home although I think she just salted and peppered, floured them and fried them.
