2 1/4 cups flour
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
1 stick Crisco
1 stick margarine
1 tsp soda
2 eggs
1 T vanilla
2 pinches of salt
12 oz butterscotch chips (can use chocolate chips instead)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 - 375. Mix margarine and Crisco with the sugars. Blend until smooth. Add egg. Mix dry ingredients together. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients. Mix by hand or with mixer but DON'T OVERMIX. Add chips. Drop by spoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 8-9 minutes (watch your time for the first batch). Let them sit on the pan for additional 3-4 minutes.

The secret - I use up to 3 T vanilla. Once you add the dry to the wet don't mess with it too much.
