1 can garbanzo beans with liquid
1/2 cup sesame seeds
2 tbsp minced garlic
2 tbsp lemon juice
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp dried parsley
2 tbsp minced onion
pepper to taste
Saltine crackers

Directions:

Mix all ingredients in blender or food processor. Add more lemon juice or olive oil if needed for smoother processing, but leave thick enough to spread on crackers easily.

I first had hummus tahini at Eddie's Steakhouse in Oklahoma City when I was in high school. I loved it then but love it more homemade! I ate numerous batches before "perfecting" this recipe, only to discover that you can buy a pretty good hummus at Sam's!
