Ingredients:
2 c. flour
2 tbl. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. lemon pepper seasoning
1/4 tsp. baking soda
6 tbl. butter
1 beaten egg
1/3 c. buttermilk (see note below)
Lemon pepper seasoning

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400.

In a medium mixing bowl combine flour, sugar, baking powder, the 1 tsp. lemon pepper seasoning and baking soda. Using a pastry blender, (or two knives), cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Make a well in the center of the dry mixture. Set aside.

In a small mixing bowl combine the egg and buttermilk. Add the egg mixture all at once to the dry mixture. Using a fork, stir just until moistened.

Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface. Quickly knead dough by foliding and gently pressing dough for 10 to 12 strokes or until dough is nearly smooth. Pat or lightly roll dough into a 12 x 6 inch rectangle. Cut dough into 24 - 6 inch strips.

Place dough strips 1/2 inch apart on an ungreased baking sheet. If desired, sprinkle with additional lemon pepper seasoning. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until golden.

Personal Notes:
To make buttermilk - for each 1 cup of buttermilk that you need, place 1 tablespoon lemon juice or vinegar in a glass measuring cup; add enough milk to make 1 cup total liquid. Let mixture stand 5 minutes before using it in your recipe.
